Currently, Konami is hosting a Japanese indie game contest, where small indie dev teams are tasked to create action and shooting games based on some of its Classic IPs.
Competitors can choose from a list consisting of 80 different IPs, including Metal Gear Solid, Castlevania and Silent Hill. In addition, some of the games can be created with third-party studio assistance.
The winner will receive 2 million yen (~16,000 EUR) as a reward. Additionally, the devs will have the option to commercialise their game, with Konami investing up to 233,000 EUR in development funds and providing support throughout the process; they will help with production advice, localisation support, equipment, promotion and supervision.
